This morning we express support for the IDF (Israel Defense Force) as it roots out the incubator of terrorism and terrorists from Jenin, and protects Israelis across the country, while doing its heroic best to limit any civilian causalities. We take this opportunity to quote three important Israeli voices - R. Moshe Lichtenstein, R. Yaakov Medan, and a statement signed by hundreds of professors at Bar Ilan University spanning the religious, ideological, and political spectrum - who clearly, sharply, and forcefully condemn revenge terror attacks perpetrated by Jewish extremists, in the face of increasing frequency and seriousness of such attacks, and in the face of rationalization, excuses, minimizing, and even silence among all too many political and religious leaders.

Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
