This morning we discuss two sets of commandments that seem to be poor economic practice, and demonstrate, through the work of Dr. Meir Tamari (one of the world's foremost experts on economics and Jewish Law, with whom I am privileged to have a personal relationship), that they are sound and excellent economic and social policy, in addition to being a foundation of Jewish values and faith.

Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
