This morning we pay tribute to Rav Dovid Kronglas on his 50th Yartzeit, 11 Tevet. Rav Dovid was Mashgiach (spiritual guide) at Ner Yisroel, the Yeshiva I attended in Baltimore. Rav Dovid passed away just a few months after I arrived at the age of 14. My contact with him was brief, at a distance, and utterly life-changing. Here I share just a brief part of a lecture he gave on the essential character of Rosh Hashana, and what we did and do for God on that day.
