This morning we discuss the syntax of a farmer's statement on bringing First Fruits (Bikkurim, at the beginning of our Parsha, Ki Tavo). What is the question, and who is asking it (V'Anita V'Amarta - and you shall answer and say...)? Based on an essay by Baily Newman, we draw a picture of how forming and telling a story creates our reality, giving it context and meaning, for ourselves and others. It is this task, crafting the story of our past year, we should fashion now, as this Jewish year comes to a close.
