This morning we discuss a poignant essay, presented by Shira Lankin Sheps in The Layers Project Magazine (a wonderful Facebook group I highly recommend). The essay is a first-hand account of the double terror attack in Jerusalem last Wednesday, November 23. It gives us a a tiny glimpse of what it feels like to experience something like this so close to home. And it also provides a magnificent lesson in how we get through terror, and other, less dramatic challenges we all face.

Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
