Have you ever told someone the truth and watched it all go downhill? Or stayed quiet to keep the peace... and then regretted it later? That tension between honesty and kindness is woven into so much of our earthly experience and in this episode, we're digging into why and how it's possible to hold truth and love at the same time.

I'm exploring the dichotomy between truth and love, and why choosing one over the other leaves something important to be desired. Truth without love becomes a weapon and love without truth becomes a comfortable lie. The goal isn't to pick a side but rather to learn how to weave them both together.

This tension shows up everywhere: in our closest relationships, in our parenting, and in our businesses. We look at what scripture teaches us about delivering hard things well, including Ephesians 4:15, 2 Nephi 2:11, Jacob's powerful example of truth delivered with a broken heart, and the practical blueprint laid out in D&C 121:41-43.

In this episode:

  • Why truth without love does more harm than good, even when you're right
  • Why conflict-avoidance isn't kindness, it's delayed harm
  • What Jacob's example in the Book of Mormon teaches us about hard conversations
  • The four principles for holding truth and love at the same time
  • How this shows up in coaching, parenting, and everyday relationships
