This morning we discuss the controversy over including Bilaam's famous blessing (Mah Tovu Ohalecha, How Good are your Tents) as the first line we pray when we enter the synagogue. Though Bilaam intended it as a curse, Rabbi Norman Lamm explains it is our character to wring blessing from curse. We demonstrate this with the destruction of the Bet HaMikdash (Holy Temple in Jerusalem), and with the invention of automobile air conditioning.
