Advent is a historic celebration in the Christian calendar that spans the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. The word Advent means “arrival”—and at Christmas we remember the arrival of Jesus, the greatest gift ever given; the Savior who came to take away the sins of the world.   Yet in our modern world, the consumerism and noise of the holiday season can easily distract our hearts and drown out God’s voice. The good news is, it doesn’t have to be this way. When we slow down and ask Him for grace, God meets us there. We kick off our advent series a week early this year to cast vision rooted in gratitude and celebration.
