11 Days – A True Life Novel – Mark Holloway pt 2

Listen Later

“11 Days” – A True Life Novel Mark Holloway pt 2Failed marriage. Failed business. This is something that many people around the world are facing or have faced. The current situation with forced shutdowns and lockdowns and isolation just exasperate problems that have been lingering under the surface. Now, they are rearing their ugly heads. Financial problems are often the major cause of marital problems. And with this COVID situation all across the world – no businesses open means no jobs and no income. But yet, the bills arrive like clockwork. That just leads to further problems in the home.
Well, my guest today faced something similar, except it was not COVID related. It was well before that. Mark Holloway’s life was spiralling out of control. His business failed. His wife left him. He was angry. And he was angry at God.
And when he screamed out at God, he was amazed when God spoke back! I think I would be too! Amen!
God then led him into a way to have amazing, ongoing conversations with Him. And he started to share this method of communicating with God, initially in a blog, and then in “The Freedom Diaries” – a book that has sold thousands of copies all over the world and helped untold numbers of people.
Now, Mark’s marriage has been restored – which, by the way, is what God initially told him would happen when he first cried out to God – Praise the Lord. But he is now about to publish a book titled “11 Days.”
“11 DAYS” is a novel based on a true story – Mark’s true story of how he stumbled on a conversation with God at the worst time in his life. And how that conversation lead to restoring his broken marriage and his failed business. It’s a story that has taught thousands to have their own back and forth conversations with God. As a result, marriages have been healed, drug habits busted, families restored, businesses revitalised and the Word of God has been shared around the world! Amen!
Does it take practice to hear and recognize God’s voice or answers to your questions?
If someone wanted to do this, how can they prepare for a back and forth conversation with God?
Have you ever gotten wrong?
What should someone do if they take that step of Faith they believed God was telling them to do in response to a question and they get it wrong?
Why did you decide to write “11 Days” as a novel?
Tell us about the character “Jack Kincaid…”
I love the conversations Jack has with God. For example, Jack and his friend Mick are riding their motorcycles in the mountains and Jack thinks, “I love riding with these guys.”
Then, God says, “I like riding with him too,”
“No, you don’t.”
“Says who?”
“God look, I like him, he’s my mate. But you’re not supposed to like him, he’s a medium for goodness sake…”
God say, “So what? There’s a lot of things I’m not supposed to like – uncircumcised men among them. In fact, if you read the bible more carefully you’ll discover that most versions say that if you rebel against your parents or have sex outside of marriage that I want you dead. Yes, it actually says that. You didn’t know that was in there did you? Are you suggesting that you should have been put to death years ago? There are a number of people who are convinced you’re a heretic and although they’d never admit it, they’d be happy to help put an end to your life.”
“Good grief, God, you say the craziest things.”
“Good grief yourself. What about where it says if you sin with your hands you should cut them off, I’m guessing there are a lot of one armed people in the churches you’ve been to? Or do your harsh interpretations of the bible only apply to others and not yourselves?”
“But God…”
“But nothing. You all need to stop being so religious. If you read the book a little more carefully, you’ll see that it points out that I like people so much – that’s all people, most of whom don’t even believe in me – that I came to live among them and get to know them. It says I didn’t come for religious people, I came for the...
