Primary Scripture: Ecclesiastes 1:9–11

Ecclesiastes reminds us that what has been done will be done again, there is nothing truly new under the sun, and generations that once seemed significant eventually pass from human remembrance.

TS Wright uses this passage to address the modern obsession with legacy, recognition, reputation, influence, and being remembered.

The episode asks a penetrating Kingdom question:

Are we living to make our name great—or to make the name of Jesus known?

TS explains that there is a legitimate spiritual inheritance believers should leave behind. The goal, however, should not be personal immortality through reputation. The people influenced by our lives should remember that we stood for Jesus Christ and pointed them toward Him.

Jesus Christ is the legacy.

The episode then moves from the question of legacy to the question of direction.

Every person has something driving his or her decisions. Ambition can drive us. Culture can drive us. Money can drive us. Recognition can drive us. Circumstances can drive us. Fear can drive us. Even apparently good intentions can move us in a direction God never commanded.

The critical question becomes:

Is God driving the ship?

TS uses the picture of God as the pilot—the One setting the GPS, establishing the destination, correcting the course, and determining where our lives are going.

That requires spiritual reflection and prayer.

The believer must ask:

Am I being led by the Spirit of God?

Jesus Himself, following His baptism, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. Being Spirit-led does not always mean being directed toward the easiest road. It means surrendering the destination, route, timing, motivation, and outcome to God.

The tragedy would be to reach the end of life having accomplished impressive things, accumulated possessions, developed a reputation, and established what the world calls a legacy—only to discover that God was never the One directing the journey.

Earthly possessions do not follow us into eternity.

Human recognition does not determine eternity.

Personal fame does not determine eternity.

The ultimate question is:

Are you in Christ?

Is Christ leading your heart?

Is Christ directing your decisions?

Is Christ the motivation behind what you are building?

Is every area of your life surrendered to Him?

The call of this episode is to place everything before the Lord and allow Jesus Christ to become the why, the motivation, the direction, and the driving force behind your life.

Kingdom Cross Roads Challenge:
Spend intentional time before the Lord and ask Him to reveal what is actually driving your life. Surrender your ambitions, plans, reputation, possessions, decisions, relationships, ministry, and future to Him.

Then ask the question that frames this episode:

Is Jesus driving?

In this special Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast interview recorded at the Christian Product Expo (CPE) Summer 2026, TS Wright welcomes returning guest Debra McNinch, author of Battle Cry: Love Goes to War and founder of the prayer ministries Battle Cry Moms and Battle Cry Dads.

Debra reveals that the message behind Battle Cry began years before the book itself. Approximately twenty years earlier, she experienced a dream in which she saw herself standing on a stage speaking about a book she had written. At the time, she did not yet understand the prophetic significance of the dream. Years later, circumstances within her own family would provide the unexpected context for that calling.

After receiving a life-altering phone call from her oldest child, Debra initially resisted the idea that she would ever publicly address what her family was experiencing. But she describes receiving a profound spiritual directive: her responsibility was to love her child while trusting God with the work only God could accomplish.

That season became the foundation for Battle Cry.

Debra explains that the book is not primarily her child's story. It is her story—the account of what God exposed and transformed within her as she walked through circumstances she never expected. The first portion of the book examines that personal transformation, while the second focuses on prayer, spiritual warfare, faith, and believing God for one's family.

The conversation becomes especially candid as Debra discusses how family crises can affect marriages, siblings, relationships, holidays, traditions, and the entire family structure. She describes years without the kinds of family gatherings many people take for granted and explains why Battle Cry seeks to give a voice to parents walking through similarly painful situations.

TS and Debra then broaden the discussion to the condition of the Church and Western culture.

They examine:

• Spiritual warfare within families
• The enemy's strategy of division
• The cost of following Jesus
• Holding family and relationships with an open hand before God
• Remaining faithful when prayers appear unanswered
• Refusing shame and condemnation over the past
• The responsibility of Christians to speak truth in love
• Cultural confusion and the loss of spiritual identity
• The danger of a comfortable or "ice cream gospel"
• Standing firm when Christian convictions become unpopular
• Growing persecution of Christians around the world
• Remaining anchored in Jesus regardless of what comes next

Debra challenges believers to reject fear of cultural cancellation and recover the courage to speak truth while continuing to love people. TS emphasizes that Christian confidence cannot ultimately rest in human personalities, ministries, or flawless personal histories—it must remain centered upon Jesus Christ and His finished work.

As the conversation concludes, the message is clear:

The darker the world becomes, the brighter the Church must shine.

Believers are called to stand upon the Rock, remain steadfast in faith, keep their eyes fixed upon Jesus, and refuse to allow circumstances, culture, persecution, disappointment, or family conflict to move them away from Him.

Live from CPE 26 in St. Charles, Missouri, TS Wright sits down with Karen Whiting for another special edition of The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast.

Karen is an accomplished author, speaker, networker, and connector whose ministry has brought authors, media professionals, organizations, and audiences together. In this interview, she shares both her personal story and the message behind her book, Growing a Joyful Heart.

Karen has experienced extraordinary challenges throughout her life, including numerous natural disasters and the loss of loved ones. She explains how those experiences taught her that circumstances do not have to determine whether a believer possesses joy.

One unforgettable story comes from Hurricane Andrew. Karen recalls sheltering in a closet with her five children while the hurricane struck their area. During the storm, she read the biblical account of Jesus calming the storm and prayed. In the middle of an incredibly tense situation, her family found a moment to laugh—an illustration of how faith and joy can remain present even during frightening circumstances.

Karen explains that Growing a Joyful Heart, written with Pam Farrel, develops the message of joy through four major areas:

Developing Inner Joy
Joy begins internally through a relationship with God. When joy is anchored in Christ, believers can remain spiritually grounded even when circumstances are difficult.

Joy in Relationships
Relationships can greatly increase or diminish our joy. Karen discusses bringing God's joy into our interactions with family, friends, and others.

Choosing Joy
Joy frequently requires an intentional decision, particularly when the unexpected happens and life takes a direction we never wanted.

Sprinkling Joy into the Lives of Others
Biblical joy is meant to overflow. As believers experience God's joy, they can become people who intentionally bring encouragement, hope, and joy to those around them.

Karen also discusses the historical component of the devotional, including stories of men and women from history who demonstrated joy or helped create circumstances where people could come together in positive and productive ways.

The conversation then turns to Karen's work as a connector and content coordinator. She explains how networking can connect the right authors and speakers with media outlets and organizations searching for knowledgeable voices on specific topics.

As the interview concludes, Karen leaves listeners with a powerful challenge: choose joy.

Choosing joy in difficult circumstances can become a testimony to others. When people see peace and joy that circumstances cannot explain, it creates an opportunity to point them toward Christ—the true source of that joy.

Primary Scripture: Mark 6:7–12

Jesus did not send the Twelve into ministry without preparation, authority, or instruction. He called them, commissioned them, gave them authority, and sent them.

That sequence establishes an important Kingdom pattern.

Mark 6:7 begins with Jesus calling the Twelve unto Himself before sending them out.

Kingdom ministry begins with Christ.

Before there is a commission, there is a calling. Before there is public ministry, there must be relationship, instruction, submission, and preparation.

The disciples were not operating independently. They were representatives of the One who sent them.

Jesus sent the disciples two by two.

Kingdom ministry was never designed merely around individual personalities. There is strength in agreement, accountability, confirmation, and partnership.

The mission belonged to Christ, but the disciples carried it together.

Jesus gave the Twelve power and authority over unclean spirits.

Their authority did not originate in themselves. It was delegated by Jesus Christ.

This distinction is essential.

Kingdom authority is not human charisma, personality, political influence, education, or organizational position. True spiritual authority comes from submission to the King.

The disciples went because Jesus sent them.

They spoke because Jesus commissioned them.

They exercised authority because Jesus gave it to them.

Jesus gave unusual instructions concerning what the disciples were to carry for their journey.

They were being taught to trust God while fulfilling their assignment.

The mission could not become dependent upon possessions, comfort, elaborate preparation, or material security. Their confidence had to remain in the God who called and sent them.

Kingdom ministry requires faith.

Jesus told them that when they entered a house, they were to remain there until they departed from that place.

There is a principle of recognizing where God has provided reception for the Kingdom assignment.

Not every door will open.

Not every person will receive.

Not every community will respond in the same way.

The servant of God must therefore possess both faith and discernment.

Jesus also prepared His disciples for rejection.

If a place would not receive them or hear them, they were instructed to depart and shake the dust from beneath their feet as a testimony against them.

This reveals a difficult but important Kingdom principle:

The messenger is responsible to faithfully deliver the message.

The hearer is responsible for the response.

There comes a moment when rejection itself becomes a decision.

That is the Kingdom Cross Road.

Mark 6:12 tells us:

“And they went out, and preached that men should repent.”

Repentance was central to the message.

The Kingdom of God does not simply invite people to add religious ideas to their existing lives. The Kingdom calls people to turn—to change direction, change allegiance, and come under the rule of God.

Repentance is a crossroads.

One direction continues in the old way.

The other turns toward the King.

The Church continues to stand at critical crossroads.

Will we proclaim the message Christ actually commissioned His servants to preach?

Will we operate under His authority rather than our own strength?

Will we trust His provision?

Will we preach repentance?

Will we recognize when God has opened a door?

And will we understand that some people will receive the Kingdom while others reject it?

The commission has not changed.

Jesus Christ is still King.

His servants are still being sent.

The Kingdom message still demands a response.

And humanity still stands at Kingdom Cross Roads.

In this special CPE 2026 edition of The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, host TS Wright welcomes author and longtime pastor James Saxon for a conversation about communicating the gospel to a changing culture.

James begins by sharing his own spiritual journey. Raised in a strongly religious environment in Alabama, he learned reverence for God and moral discipline at an early age. During his teenage and early college years, however, he moved away from that foundation and entered a season of rebellion.

Friends continued challenging him with an important distinction: being religious was not the same thing as having a personal relationship with God.

By age twenty, James began seriously reconsidering the question of God. His search eventually led him to surrender his life to Christ, pursue seminary, enter pastoral ministry, and devote decades of his life to helping others discover the gospel.

During the final twenty years of his pastoral ministry, James served as a director of evangelism at a large church in Atlanta. There he helped develop a course specifically for people who were not yet Christians but were sincerely seeking answers.

That experience helped shape the approach behind his book, The Greatest Offer.

James explains that unbelief in contemporary culture has become increasingly complex. For many people, a short presentation of the gospel is no longer enough. Before someone can properly accept or reject Christianity, they first need to understand what the gospel actually claims.

But clarity is only part of the challenge.

People also carry intellectual, cultural, emotional, and philosophical objections that can become barriers to faith. James describes these as beliefs that can prevent people from seriously considering Christ even before they understand the gospel message.

The Greatest Offer therefore approaches evangelism in two ways:

1. Clearly explain the gospel.
2. Address the common objections that keep people from responding to it.

Drawing from thousands of hours of conversations with spiritual seekers, James presents these ideas in straightforward, conversational language rather than an unnecessarily confrontational format.

During the interview, James identifies several major themes explored in the book:

• The uniqueness of Jesus Christ
• The reliability of His Word
• The meaning of the Good News
• The transformational power of genuine faith
• The invitation to respond personally to the gospel

James also shares a powerful story of two women whose spiritual search was profoundly affected after encountering the message presented in the book. What began as an attempt to understand the Bible developed into a serious pursuit of God and regular study of Scripture.

TS and James ultimately return to the central question every person must confront:

Who do you say Jesus is?

The conversation closes with a memorable challenge:

Is heaven on your bucket list?

For believers, the episode also serves as a reminder that evangelism is not limited to overseas missions or formal ministry settings. The Great Commission begins wherever God has placed us—including our neighborhoods, workplaces, relationships, and everyday conversations.

As TS emphasizes, Christians should continually develop the biblical knowledge and practical tools necessary to communicate Christ effectively to others.

Recorded live from Christian Product Expo 2026, TS Wright welcomes author Paula Pasque to the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast.

Paula begins by sharing a unique part of her personal story, including her connection to professional baseball and her firsthand awareness of Christian ministry within professional sports.

The conversation then turns to her children's book, The Adventures of Sheldon the Sheep: Sheldon and the Shepherd.

Paula explains that the project came together during the COVID period. As a visual thinker, she already carried the concept in her mind and used that season to put the story on paper. She not only wrote the manuscript but also produced the original hand-drawn concepts that would eventually guide the book's illustrations.

At the heart of the book is a simple but important message:

Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and we are like sheep who need our Shepherd.

Paula explains that biblical meaning has intentionally been woven throughout the book. Sheldon’s curiosity, the characteristics of sheep, the relationship between sheep and their shepherd, and even details within the illustrations become opportunities to teach children spiritual truth.

During the interview, Paula recalls personally witnessing sheep respond to the voice of their shepherd—an experience that brought Jesus’ teaching about His sheep hearing His voice to life in a powerful way.

The book is designed to be more than a story. Scripture is incorporated into the book, and questions are provided to help parents engage children in conversations about obedience, curiosity, authority, Jesus, and what it means to follow the Shepherd.

A major focus of the conversation is the responsibility of Christians to reach children early.

Paula explains that children readily recognize many cultural and commercial figures while sometimes knowing very little about Jesus. Her desire is to help change that by giving families a story that connects memorable characters and illustrations with biblical truth.

TS and Paula discuss the importance of establishing a firm spiritual foundation while children are young so that, as they encounter an increasingly challenging culture, they have already been introduced to the truth of God’s Word.

Paula also shares the story behind finding the illustrator for the book—a connection she believes demonstrates God's providential direction in bringing the project together.

The episode concludes with Paula emphasizing the central message she wants children and families to remember:

Jesus is the Shepherd. He is present, He leads His sheep, and He continually calls them back when their curiosity leads them away from where they should be.

In this episode of The Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast, recorded at CPE 26, host TS Wright welcomes Australian author and chaplain Raewyn Elsegood for a conversation about faith, grief, healing, and her book, 21 Gifts: A Sacred Dance Through Grief and Healing.

Raewyn's Christian journey began at approximately five years old when her mother showed her a picture of Jesus standing at a door and asked whether she would like to open the door and invite Him in.

Decades later, that lifelong faith would face one of its greatest tests.

Raewyn's 19-year-old daughter, who dreamed of dancing professionally and eventually coming to America, passed away. The loss profoundly affected Raewyn's life and her relationship with God.

During her grief, Raewyn stopped attending church for approximately seven months. She describes that period as an attempt, even if she did not initially recognize it, to withhold something from God because she felt something precious had been taken from her.

A friend eventually invited her back to church. There, Raewyn came to a renewed place of surrender—not claiming to understand what had happened, but making a decision to trust God through what she could not understand.

As her daughter's 21st birthday and the anniversary of her passing approached, Raewyn found herself asking God for help simply facing each day.

The message she received was simple:

“Just today.”

Live in the present.

Over a period of 21 days, Raewyn intentionally identified things connected with her daughter's life that brought joy and meaning. She began sharing those reflections publicly, and the response from others revealed that what had begun as a mother's private journey through grief might also help other people.

Those reflections became the foundation for 21 Gifts: A Sacred Dance Through Grief and Healing.

Raewyn emphasizes an important distinction:

Grief itself is not the gift.

Instead, the journey is about discovering and honoring the gifts that remain within the lives and memories of the people we have loved.

Raewyn's daughter had been training as a dancer and dreamed of coming to America and dancing on Broadway.

Raewyn describes writing and sharing 21 Gifts as a way of continuing her daughter's legacy—taking the dream associated with her daughter's “dancing feet” and carrying it forward through her own words.

Her story becomes a reminder that the influence of a person's life does not necessarily end with their death.

We can remember.

We can honor.

We can carry forward what God placed within their lives.

One of the central themes of the conversation is that grief does not always require choosing between sorrow and joy.

Both can exist at the same time.

Drawing from her experiences as both a grieving mother and a chaplain, Raewyn discusses the importance of presence and listening when helping someone who has experienced loss.

Sometimes the greatest ministry is not having the perfect explanation.

It is simply being present.

In this special Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast interview recorded at CPE Live 2026, host TS Wright welcomes Dennis Weins of SAT-7 for a conversation about missions, Christian media, and the expanding reach of the Gospel.

Dennis begins by sharing his personal journey. Growing up in a missionary family in West Africa eventually led him back to the region, where he spent decades working alongside churches, church leaders, and community development ministries.

That experience prepared him for another chapter of ministry with SAT-7, a Christian media organization born in the Middle East with a vision of seeing a growing and confident Church throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Dennis explains how SAT-7 pioneered the use of satellite television to reach people in regions where traditional missionary approaches could face significant barriers.

What began with a limited satellite broadcast has expanded into multiple television channels along with digital streaming, social media, mobile applications, and other online platforms.

These technologies allow Christian programming to reach directly into homes—and increasingly into the phones and personal devices of viewers.

One of the major themes of the conversation is cultural context.

Rather than simply repackaging Western Christian programming, SAT-7 produces content in the Middle East with local Christians speaking to their own communities.

Dennis explains the importance of communicating biblical Christianity through the heart language and heart culture of the audience.

Programming includes dramas, talk shows, children's programming, biblical teaching, and other formats designed to communicate the Gospel in culturally meaningful ways.

TS Wright and Dennis also discuss the danger of allowing news headlines alone to shape the way Christians view the Middle East.

Dennis emphasizes a different perspective:

Wherever the Gospel can be shared, there is hope.

Themes of God's love, forgiveness, meaning, identity, and significance resonate deeply with viewers. SAT-7's audience-relations teams are then able to continue walking with viewers as they explore questions of faith through television, social media, digital platforms, and the SAT-7 PLUS app.

The conversation challenges believers to look beyond political conflicts and negative headlines and recognize that God is working among people throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Countries that may appear closed from the outside can still contain people who are receptive to the message of Christ.
