¿Medical Spanglish si? ¿Medical Spanglish no?
¿Crees que se debería usar el Spanglish en situaciones clínicas con Spanish-speaking patients?
Es un fact que miles de personas, en los Estados Unidos, usan el Spanglish to communicate every day. En California, Texas, NYC, Chicago, and many other places, en los Estados Unidos, puedes escuchar conversaciones in Spanglish.
Entonces imagino que, when these Spanglish speakers go to the doctor, ellos y el personal sanitario usan el Medical Spanglish, right?
Pero no solo los Spanglish-speakers, I mean, what about the Spanish-speakers? Si the patients hablan un poco de inglés, and the doctors and nurses and other health professionals hablan un poco de español, yo creo que está claro que podemos hablar de Medical Spanglish.
It is very important for health professionals to take these questions into account and how to formulate them correctly in Spanish in order to communicate adequately with their Spanish-speaking patients.
👉 If you want to check the questions in English and Spanish, you can read the blog post here.
