A good technical crew can make even the bad actor look great. Their work is so thankful but so rewarding to them and to the audiences that see it…they are critical to making a great show great. Sometimes you hit a trifecta with an actor and they either came from a technical background or like doing both for different shows. This, we call someone as being “Bitectual”. If you aren’t a method actor, what kind of actor are you? Laurence Olivier famously said to method actor Dustin Hoffmen “Why don’t you try acting?”. He is referring to what is commonly known as Classical acting. Classical acting is an umbrella term describing the philosophy of acting that integrations many techniques, including some that stem from method acting. We talk about these techniques, demonstrate some of them, and have a few laughs along the way.
