11: The Bible: Law

Listen Later

We're starting a new series! Maybe we can justify calling this one a 'series' because it will last more than three episodes...

After looking at the Gospel, the Trinity, and the theological virtues, we're now discussing how our understanding of the Bible has developed. Instead of just looking at Old and New Testaments, or trying to summarise every single book within the Bible, we've decided to look at genres (i.e. types of literature). The first of these is the Law, otherwise known as the Pentateuch, the Torah, or the first five books of the Bible.

Rhys begins the episode with a strange news story about a manikin called Alan before sharing his understanding of the Law as ceremonial, social, and moral. During the conversation, Sam shares one of his favourite verses, as well as some wisdom from NT Wright, William Barclay, and the late Michael Green.
