Emily is joined by Aubrey to share some closing thoughts on Matt's season, some bestie banter, and speculations of what two Bachelorettes will look like. It took us a while to get back on the mic because, as I'm sure listeners can also relate to, watching Matt's season unfold has been quite the ride and was something to process for everyone. What started off as something fun, exciting and overdue...ended up showcasing a whole butt load of racially insensitive activity and bias in quite a few areas over the course of his journey.
We discuss the relationship that family plays in the closing episodes of every lead's season, as well as sentiments expressed in this description.
As far as ATFR and the final conversations that we saw...we aren't in a place to discuss their how it was handled, or if any of the televised discussion landed because aren't directly effected by the pain this season has caused people. We encourage you, if you haven't already, to listen to BIPOC contestants former cast to get their take on how this season concluded. While it's not their job to educate us, if they're sharing their stories we need to listen. "The Blackchelor Pod", "Higher Learning" , and "2 Black Girls, 1 Rose" grace us with amazing recaps and perspective on the show as well.
Thanks for tuning in BB's and we'll chat soon!
xoxo
