On Today's show, we discuss… 1.10 Investing in Yourself/Your Future. This week’s show we follow Todd’s lead as he discusses setting and attaining goals. Topics include staying focused and driven as well as avoiding procrastination. We had the privilege of recording at my (Gerrard’s) Alma Mater, Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound.
Innate – Inborn or natural abilities.
Symposium - A conference or meeting to discuss a particular subject.
Carrot or the Stick – An idiom that refers to a policy of offering a combination of reward and punishment to induce good behavior. It is named in reference to a cart driver dangling a carrot in front of a mule and holding a stick behind it
Aimless – Without purpose or direction.
Averse – Having a strong dislike of or opposition to something.
Sandwich Method – In giving feedback, tell something beneficial followed by an area of needed improvement and end with another positive.
Tent-pole Moments – On a tent-pole sits the highest portion of the tent and in business, this is looked at as a pivotal or seminal moment.
Mitigate – Make less severe, painful or punitive.
Endgame – Final stage of a game or plan.
Punitive – Inflicting or intended as punishment.
Reciprocity – The practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit, especially privileges granted by one country or organization to another.
Indictment – A formal charge or accusation of a serious crime.
Untenable – Not able to be maintained or defended against attack or objection.
Digression Session – A small wrinkle in time when the hosts go off topic to rant about something.
