meniscus tears in the knee can limit function a lot. many people that get tears or injury to the knee joint look at injections and surgery options that are not necessary to get back to normal function with limited pain. the meniscus sometimes needs surgery but more times than not it doesn't need to be operated on to get back to function without pain. I will discuss of a few of my patients with meniscus tears that were able to conservatively rehab their knees and avoid surgery and other drugs to mask pain. if you have knee pain from a meniscus this is a good podcast to listen to before deciding on surgery options.
