On Today's show, we discuss… 1.15 VABEs (Managing Employee VABEs). Gerrard and Todd continue the discussion on what motivates and informs decisions. The focus this round is how to manage the VABEs of direct reports. One key aspect of this is the culture (VABEs) of an employer.

Monolith – A large and impersonal political, corporate, or social structure regarded as intractably indivisible and uniform.

Exemplar – A person or thing serving as a typical example or excellent model.

Behoove – A duty or responsibility for someone to do something; it is incumbent on.

Acquiesce – Accept something reluctantly but without protest.

WIIFM – What’s In It For Me.

Refute – Argue, dispel or offer a rebuttal.

Inanimate – Not alive, static, void of personality.

Conglomerate – A large corporation formed by the merging of separate and diverse firms.

Disparate - Essentially different in kind; not allowing comparison.

Homogenous – Of the same kind, alike.

Temperaments – A person's nature, especially as it permanently affects their behavior.

Amicable – Having a spirit of friendliness; without serious disagreement or rancor.

Commonality – The state of sharing features or attributes.

Elated – To be extremely happy.

Spectrum – Used to classify something, or suggest that it can be classified, in terms of its position on a scale between two extreme or opposite points.

Nonchalant – Feeling or appearing casually calm and relaxed; not displaying anxiety, interest, or enthusiasm.
