In this episode, I want to pass along a message to parents who have children in special education or who you suspect needs additional support. I talked with many of my colleagues in the field from across the nation about what they want parents to know, specifically what they want you to know that they can’t say at an IEP meeting or as school personnel because of the repercussions they may face from their superiors. Sometimes we, as school psychologists, find ourselves in this kind of weird space intertwined between school politics and advocating for children and families in a way that may go against the grain. So, this episode is dedicated to all the parents who want to be empowered to ensure that your child is getting the best education possible and without the games. So tune in and take notes.
