Jed Smith is a surfer, journalist, and co-host of everyone’s favourite surf podcast  “Ain’t that Swell”, a podcast that celebrates (and challenges) the full spectrum of surf culture. Whilst Jed’s brand of larrikin humour is adored by his legion of podcast fans, there is an obvious paradox in Jed’s article writing which often addresses socio-politics issues with sharp intellect and logical rationale. At age 34, Jed has acquired a stacked resume. He was a journalist and correspondent for VICE news Indonesia, he has written for every major newspaper in Australia,  written and worked for the most respected surf magazines,  and currently, when he is not recording podcasts with co-host Vaughn Blakey, Jed is a part-time employee at STAB surfing magazine. In this week's episode, Jed discusses the long-term impact of the Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) he sustained in his earlier years, the plight of the working class, the financial strain of growing up in a single-parent household, his decision to address his inner-demons by choosing life, and much much more. Sincere, authentic, opinionated, and well researched, Jed is a champion of the people...who has no desire to be a champion of the people.
