He held so much light

You knew it scared him

Embracing fear as his friend and enemy

He became a skilled dancer in the fight

Navigating waves of emotionality

Self-sabotage could induce a dim

 

But that was just temporarily

Until his next moment of insight

 

How could he transform the dark?

If he could not face his own shadows

Society reflecting his pain

Could he handle the responsibility of fame?

Drinking, smoking, eating was not his version of fun

For a simple life in the meadows

Feet on the earth, gazing into the sun

Was how he dreamed of leaving his mark

 

Transcending generational anger

The urge to fuck women

And hit another million dollar marker 

"I'll let you know tomorrow" was his new answer

With a beard with fragments of gold

And eyes that sparkled like Sapphire

The truth was obvious
