We are back with part 2 of Christina’s story. We left off with her having a confirmed #endometrioma and fibroid, struggling with #fertility, and figuring out her next move. For those of you who missed part 1, you can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or iCareBetter’s YouTube channel, link in bio! She continues where she left off, finding the right providers. She had some significant findings during her surgery, resulting in a hysterectomy, L ovary removal (oophorectomy), and proper excision, even on her diaphragm!
Christina's lifelong battle with chronic illness began in childhood, and her strength has only grown since then. Through bartonellosis, infertility, and an endometriosis diagnosis, she has faced each challenge with unwavering determination. 💪 Taking a break from her career as a clinical research professional, Christina decided to focus on her health, finding herself once more, and discovering new paths to healing, and becoming intone with her body once again.
Meet Christina:
Christina is an endometriosis patient and budding endo and chronic illness advocate. Christina is taking a much needed break from climbing the corporate ladder as a clinical research professional to work on getting healthy, pain free, and finding herself again.
When she is able to return to her career of 20+ years, Christina hopes to be able to utilize her vast and varied research experience, which includes oncology, pediatrics, neurologic, hepatic, and infectious disease, and shift her focus to women's health, specifically the intersection of endometriosis, rare disease, and pediatrics.
Christina is excited that through her advocacy work, and by delivering successful research for new therapeutics from inception through New Drug Approval (NDA), with the assistance of the teams she manages, she will be able to contribute to the well being of others who are experiencing what can be an isolating and overwhelming diagnosis.
Remember, each one of us is capable of inspiring change and offering a helping hand to those in need. Christina's journey is a reminder that we are never alone in our struggles and that hope and healing are always within reach.
