Its a simple tool really… but there are so many different thicknesses, textures, shapes, hardness, materials, and quite honestly, opinions about this tool we call a plectrum or when you become friends with it… a pick. I use to be a guy who would grab a free pick at a guitar booth and use it for months. I was the guy who had a hard time shelling out $3 on a 12 pack of picks. But now I can justify upwards of 35 dollars on the right plectrum. So what happened? Under what circumstances would the cost of a pick be worth it? What tones can I expect from different shapes, thickness, hardness, and materials? Well we will discuss this, and more, on this Group Therapy Session with Jason on the Tweed Couch.
