On the surface, Benjamin Barlow's story sounds like that of most window cleaners. He got started without much, it was kind of a side hustle and then it became his primary means to feed his family and he committed to the business on a long-term basis. He is very family focused and refused to allow his business to overshadow his identity as a family-oriented man. But this is where Ben's origin story diverges from that of most window cleaners: along with his business partner, Ben employs 120 window cleaners. How did they manage to grow & scale whilst maintaining a family focus? How was Ben able to make the shift from working on the tools to managing others and then to essentially acting as a consultant within his own business? How did his identity not get snagged in a specific stage along the way? Find out with me as you listen to this great conversation with the amazing & unassuming Benjamin Barlow.
