A very ordinary single mother in New Jersey becomes a “Den Mother” to some local children.

She invents an ex-husband who is apparently Mob connected and unhappy with the children not doing chores to an exacting standard.

She manipulates one of the older children into becoming the “ex-husbands” enforcer, doling out punishments that become increasingly violent.

Until one victim dies.
