Our fabulous guest this week is Korin Nolan, Pilates expert, presenter and founder of Power Pilates UK, Dynamic Pilates TV and The Class Plan.

With more than 15 years' experience in the fitness industry, Korin has built a reputation for her dynamic approach to Pilates and, importantly, her passion for helping women become stronger, move better and feel more confident in their bodies.

A former TV presenter and published author, Korin brings together extensive fitness expertise with the very real experience of running businesses, creating content, teaching and being a mum of three.

Why Has Pilates Become So Popular?

Pilates has well and truly moved into the mainstream.

But as more classes, studios and variations appear, knowing what constitutes good Pilates – and what we should be looking for from an instructor or studio – becomes increasingly important.

Korin has watched the industry evolve for more than two decades, so we ask:

With Pilates exploding in popularity, what should people actually be looking for when choosing a Pilates class or studio?

Is every Pilates class essentially the same?

What should we expect from a good instructor?

And should we be choosing a class because it's fashionable – or because it's actually right for our body, ability and goals?

Women, Fitness and the Conflicting Advice Problem

Lift weights.

Women are surrounded by advice about what we should be doing to stay healthy and strong – and that advice can become particularly confusing as we move into our 40s and beyond.

💗 MEET ROSIE BELLINGTON

Rosie Bellington is a permanent makeup artist and trainer based in South East London and Kent, with an impressive 15 years’ experience specialising in beautifully natural brows, eyeliner and lips.

But Rosie’s entrepreneurial journey stretches far beyond the treatment room.

After years of working directly with clients, Rosie spotted a problem almost every makeup wearer will recognise:

The dreaded smashed powder compact.

Rather than simply accepting it as one of those annoying things that happens, Rosie decided to do something about it.

She invented Pressed — a beauty tool designed to repair broken or cracked powder compacts.

And this wasn’t a case of finding an existing product and making her own version. Rosie was creating something from scratch, with no blueprint to follow.

That meant taking an idea through product development, problem-solving, testing and all the challenges involved in moving from concept towards launch.

Alongside all of that, Rosie has also opened her very own studio and Pressed HQ in Beckenham.

Entrepreneurial? We think so!

Away from work, Rosie has a keen interest in wellness, biohacking and strength training — with a little astrology thrown into the mix too.

Chris Tuck FMAAT ACMA CGMA is an author, speaker, trainer and Founder and CEO of Survivors Of aBuse.

Drawing upon her own lived experience, together with years of professional expertise and campaigning, Chris has developed survivor-informed education, training and recovery programmes that are changing lives.

Chris is the creator of the accredited Breaking the Cycle™ C.L.E.A.N.E.R.™ Living Programme, which has already supported more than 110 adult survivors of childhood abuse.

She is also an Honorary Visiting Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University's International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute, where her work continues to influence safeguarding, trauma-informed practice and survivor advocacy.

Following a successful career in writing and ghostwriting, Amanda moved to Anerley in 2024, where she quickly became passionate about Betts Park and the local community.

Today she serves as Chair of the Friends of Betts Park, bringing people together to improve one of the area's most valuable green spaces.
