Jane Campion welcomes you to 1850s New Zealand in her acclaimed film, The Piano. Holly Hunter is Ada, a mute mother who travels with her daughter all the way to Kiwi Land to live with her new husband, Sam Neill. She just happens to be a very talented pianist, and insists on dragging the instrument across the world. Harvey Keitel is also there, and what follows is a bizarre love triangle that left us confused, and even creeped out. It's an extremely well made film with some terrific performances (a young Anna Paquin is a standout for sure) and pleasant scenery. But there's a lot to say about the story's direction! You'll just have to sit through that to get to the main event. The biggest News Chat in Cinema Effect history. Because the Mario movie trailer has arrived...
