Holly Hunter is Ada, a mute mother who travels with her daughter all the way to Kiwi Land to live with her new husband, Sam Neill. She just happens to be a very talented pianist, and insists on dragging the instrument across the world. Harvey Keitel is also there, and what follows is a bizarre love triangle that left us confused, and even creeped out. It's an extremely well made film with some terrific performances (a young Anna Paquin is a standout for sure) and pleasant scenery. But there's a lot to say about the story's direction!
