Just like the revival of natural hair and the draw towards general consciousness, racism has also made an interesting come back in the last few years. And it’s awakened feelings in us that sometimes I imagine are the same feelings I shared with my ancestors now long gone. Not that racism ever disappeared, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen this brand of racism. It’s robust. It’s that good old-fashioned 1950’s style racism. The character of Donald Trump’s surely emboldened some of these hateful voices. But do you ever feel like we’re being manipulated, to some extent?
