This episode looks at the I Am Movement, an offshoot of Theosophy which was founded in 1930s America. This movement was created by Guy Ballard and his wife, Edna.

 

I AM is said to have been the first UFO religion and despite it's legal and public relations difficulties the movement has been successful and has inspired many subsequent movements that continue to gain strength today. Including QAnon and the Libertarian movement.

 

Through the course of this episode we learn that the story underpinning I AM was actually re-purposed by Guy and Edna Ballard, originally coming from William Dudley Pelley, also known as 'America's Hitler' and the leader of the American Nazi-aligned group The Silver Shirts, of which Guy and Edna Ballard were a part of.
