Episode #13 of The Beautiful Life Podcast
Loved this chat with my friend Liz (who I met at the Hayhouse Writers Workshop last year in October 2019)
4 years ago Liz was a lawyer in London before her "spiritual awakening" which took her on a self discovery journey through Asia to become a yoga teacher. Liz now helps women create a personal connection practice. She runs workshops, circles and events, including subjects like releasing shame around sexuality.
Here we speak about our 'freedom friendship' (as I like to call it) - how we communicate as friends, how we deal with our triggers and the expectations and conditions we put on others in relationships. We open up the conversation to explore quite a bit about our personal journeys with taking responsibility and ownership for ourselves and our emotions and share the MASSIVE importance of boundaries and being open and honest in relationships. (Something we both can't say we have perfected but are becoming more aware of along on our journeys.)
We also discuss the subject of using our voice as women and how much we can apologise for talking too much or taking up too much space - where all of this disempowerment comes from and how its time to start being aware of how much we apologise for being ourselves and taking up space. (I asked Liz on here to talk about this because we both love to talk, and we are both learning to be ok with our passion for sharing and talking - no apologies!)
Hope you like this convo - we could have talked for hours! Liz offers women's empowerment coaching and intuitive tarot readings - find her on the socials below under 'Embodies Feminine Energy'
