Earlier today Tanner Schwindt of Good Morning NOCO obtained Body Camera Footage of an interaction that occurred between Greeley City Council Candidate Antonio Molina-Haro and Greeley Police Department Chief Adam Turk. The incident happened on Tuesday September 2nd out side of City of Greeley Government.
Antonio Molina-Haro is a current candidate for City Council At-Large. He is seen in the footage wearing a blue flannel shirt and calling Chief Turk a number of vulgar names. When asked for comment the Council Candidate said: “People from other cities should not be getting involved in Greeley's politics. The debt doesn't fall on them it falls on the Greeley citizens. Don't push or shove us and not expect us to defend ourselves.”
Greeley Police Chief Turk had this to say to KFKA about the interaction: “In regard to the interaction with Mr. Molina Haro during Tuesday evening's city council meeting: Officers, including myself, were investigating a physical altercation between two females. During the course of that investigation, Mr. Molina Haro inserted himself into a matter he was neither a witness to nor directly involved in.
In my professional opinion, Mr. Molina Haro's conduct was unprofessional and disrespectful. His comments were offensive and fell short of the standards expected of a community leader.
This incident reflects the type of challenges our officers encounter daily. I want to commend the outstanding men and women of our department for the restraint they consistently show and for carrying themselves with professionalism in the face of such interactions.”
The interaction happened at the City Council meeting after public comment, much of which was focused on the controversial Catalyst/Cascadia project and after a 71 year old woman was charged with Harassment after an alleged physical altercation with a 40 year old woman.
