The nexus of the family lore doesn't rest with my grandmother, though she's the one who talks about it the most---but the lore originates with HER dad, Warren. So I talk to my uncle to find out what he knows-- and he tells a terrible story about a headless rooster. 

SCW is still elusive! Tiffany is in the business of genealogy (literally) and walks me through some of the steps she took to document SCW's ancestry. As much as she'd like to give me good news....things go awry.
