The mirror and the window are tools used by both high impact and low impact leaders (managers of people), although they use them in completely opposite ways. As Arnold Glasow stated so well, "A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit."

Leaders who take more than their share of the blame and less than their share of the credit will easily build trust and earn respect.  Leaders who take more than their share of the credit and less than their share of the blame will quickly create distrust trust and lose respect.
