Social Media is Bullshit

Nobody here has read the book yet with the exception of the free chapter. Some of us are planning on reading it but for now, we are going to talk about the concept that the book represents and not the book itself.

• Bonnie said the guy is a hack and we should be discussing work by thought leaders like Brian Solis.

• Andrew said that maybe it is a good book and the author could be going places.

• Everyone agrees it is a good title for the book which will help it sell.

Voicemail Feedback from Norm:

He is a Certified General Accountant and the CGA sent out a course on Social Media and said you guys should be using social media to promote yourselves.

• Margaret and Randall talk about professional associations and the restrictions they put on members on what they can say on social media.

• Margaret went independent so she didn’t have to deal with the legal department of a big company.

Marcel thinks that the guy that wrote Social Media is Bullshit doesn’t really think it is BS and is just trying to get a rise out of people and make waves in the social media world.

The free chapter of the book is called… “There is no such thing as an influencer”
