Learning How To Be Old

14. A life in clothes

Listen Later

You and I have spent most of our life in clothes, which have changed radically over the years. Sandy Jeffs designs clothes that work for three generations, and we talk about our favourite clothes and stupid clothes, past and present. I also ask some passers-by an intrusive question about their wardrobe. This conversation is warm, colourful and fun, like the jacket I bought from Sandy's Wellington shop, Frutti. I am reassured as, in my 80s, I'm learning how to be old.
