#14: Mediumship After Tragedy with Emmy Writer Carla Kaufman Sloan

Carla Kaufman Sloan is an Emmy winning writer and television producer with three decades of experience in creating, writing, and developing TV shows, in-studio production and delivery, and helping major television network content in New York and Los Angeles. Carla executive produced national and primetime game shows for ABC and Warner Brothers/ Telepictures in LA. In 2005, Carla and Chris launched their own company, 2C Creative in Miami, a rapidly growing content production company specializing in promos.. (www.2c.tv) In 2014, tragedy struck Carla’s life when her firstborn, Calder, was killed in their home swimming pool due to faulty wiring on an underwater high voltage pool light. The Sloan family went on to change legislation around high voltage pool lighting in the state of Florida. Six months after the tragedy, as a way to memorialize her son, Carla and her husband Chris, co-founded Caleb and Calder Sloan’s Awesome Foundation (https://ccawesomefoundation.org/) to help other children in need, prioritizing kids who have suffered the loss of a parent or sibling. The foundation has grown significantly since 2015 to serve hundreds of thousands of people through: providing school beautification projects, distributing learning supplies and backpacks to underserved public school children, significant grocery distributions to thousands of food insecure families, massive hurricane relief supplies and gifts to Puerto Rico, and more. Carla, her husband and son, Caleb, were featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show (NBC) in June of 2021.
