Minimally, Satan wants children to view Jesus as an external helper, or better yet, have Him as an external Savior: to have Him, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as their very own very slot machine – requiring Jesus to serve them through their empty self-life prayers! This deception means that the child will never need to ask this “external Jesus” into their mortal being; but rather simply to do His work.
