Isaiah 66:2

[2] All these things my hand has made,

and so all these things came to be,

declares the LORD.

But this is the one to whom I will look:

he who is humble and contrite in spirit

and trembles at my word. (ESV)

In the book of Isaiah, we learn that God looks favorably upon those who are humble, submissive in spirit, and respectful toward the Word of God. But those who are proud, defiant, and flippant toward God's decree will find no favor in the eyes of the Lord. We all need this reminder daily. Ultimately, we find grace and mercy from God for our inevitable failings in these areas in the person and work of Jesus. So turn to Him today, and away from the things that separate you the Lord.
