We’re continuing our study in the book of Acts and discussing the difference between being religious and having a relationship with God. It’s part of our series titled, SENT, and we’re looking at the life of Paul—a “religious” enemy of the church, who after meeting Jesus, became one of the greatest champions of the faith.
When most people think of the apostle Paul, they picture this bigger-than-life, champion of the faith. But Pastor J.D. shows us that before meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul was a pretty undesirable character. We’re in a series titled SENT, and we’re studying the book of Acts, Chapter 9.
Have you ever had one of those nightmares where you show up to a presentation or an interview, and you’re not wearing your pants? It’s terrifying, and we would never do it in real life. But often, we forget to get dressed spiritually. Pastor J.D. explains how we can put on the armor of God as he concludes our series called Mystery and Clarity.
Professional football players would never start a game without their helmet and pads. And firefighters would never run into a burning building without their gear. Being properly equipped is important! But often as Christians, we enter the spiritual battlefield without any protective gear. So Pastor J.D. is teaching us how to put on our spiritual armor as he continues our series called, Mystery and Clarity.
When it comes to the spiritual realm, there are two main attitudes that believers tend to have. We either think of angels and demons as just interesting characters from the Bible with no real relevance in today’s world, or we obsess over spiritual warfare and constantly worry about demonic influences. But as he continues our series called, Mystery and Clarity, Pastor J.D. exposes the truth that neither of these approaches are biblical.
When most of us think of demons, we picture something from the latest Hollywood horror film. It’s just the stuff of fiction to us. But Pastor J.D. shows us that the spirit world is very real, and it affects our lives a lot more than we probably think. It’s part of our series titled, “Mystery and Clarity.”
For many people, our views on love and relationships were shaped by the songs we listened to growing up or the movies we watched as a teen. But there’s only one relationship model we should care about, and it doesn’t come from Hollywood! We’re discovering the biblical design for marriage and family as Pastor J.D. continues our study in the book of Ephesians, Chapter 5.
If you were to ask most couples why they got married, they would probably say something about being in love, making each other happy, or physical attraction. And there’s nothing wrong with any of those things! But Pastor J.D. reveals that God actually has a much bigger purpose for our marriages, even more than our own happiness.
When life is hard, where do you turn for comfort? Some people lean on alcohol or sex, while others turn to subtler crutches such as T.V. binges or overeating. But no matter what form our vices take, they’re never going to fill us the way we want them to. Pastor J.D. reveals the only true cure for our broken hearts as he continues our study called “Mystery and Clarity.”
Our culture tends to portray Christianity as bland and boring. If you want an interesting life, the last place you’re going look is the church. But as he continues our study of Ephesians called Mystery and Clarity, Pastor J.D. reveals that the Christian life is far from boring. In fact, it’s an all-out war!
