A married couple with two children appear happy on the surface.

But he is obsessed with following in his fathers footsteps working for the railway and grows bored with family life.

His wife can do no right for doing wrong.  His children are being children, but they fair no better.

One by one, they die and its all put down to a genetic disorder.

His mother dying is the catalyst to actually investigate what was going on with this family.
