Today Jesus begins his teaching ministry and as he goes back to his hometown Nazareth he realizes that once again - religious attitudes prevail. As Jesus unveils the truth that He is the Messiah - the long awaited descendant of David - the people in Nazareth would rather murder him than embrace Him. His mission was different than they hoped - they wanted a king to take over the Roman Government - He came to open blind eyes and preach to the poor. Today we will look at the religious culture that Jesus walked into as He began His ministry.
