15. When ‘Being Real’ Becomes a Trap, a Conversation About Authenticity

Listen Later

Kay and Liv discussed the evolution of authenticity through three chapters: initially as medicine to express one's true self, then as identity potentially creating problems, and finally as a fluid choice allowing differentiation in how and when to express different parts of oneself. They explored how focusing solely on the "strongest voice" can be limiting, and emphasized the importance of being aware of inner demands and judgments when communicating. The conversation highlighted that true authenticity involves integrating multiple aspects of oneself rather than being rigidly centered on a single voice or perspective.
