I see this happen a lot... The frustrated stylist leaves the big commission salon and knows EVERYTHING they hated about where they worked. They use it as fuel to create their own thing, but I don't believe that knowing what you don't want is enough of a roadmap to where you want to be. It can be helpful, don't get me wrong, but it is not enough of a guide forward. What happens is that the stylist doesn't have the tools to know what is possible, so instead, they make slight adjustments to the model they didn't like. This works for a little while, but it won't meet the stylist's needs long term.
