Women's body image is not a new topic, but is usually focused on young adults or adolescents. Women's appearance, how we view ourselves and our worth, is just as important to our self-confidence and wellbeing as it is for those who are younger.
A misconception is that women don't experience body dissatisfaction or disordered eating during midlife. It's often minimized, which is evident by the lack of discussion around it. However, several studies suggest quite the opposite.
