In this episode, I’m having some fun with the movie "Inside Out 2" and talking about this movie as if Joy, the lead character, were my client!
It would be an understatement to say that Joy is a little uncomfortable with the other emotions present in Riley’s head, and this isn’t unlike many of us who struggle with acknowledging the full range of emotions we experience as humans. So…on this episode I’m delving into the complexities of emotions through the lens of Joy. We discuss Joy's unique role and experiences within Riley's emotional switchboard and how she navigates the challenges of maintaining happiness while acknowledging the full spectrum of emotions. We also address the impact of perfectionism and overwork on Joy's well-being, offering strategies for managing this desire to pursue joy and embracing a more balanced approach to emotional support.
This is a fun conversation and applicable to everyone - even if joy isn’t your default emotion. If you tend to get a little uncomfortable with certain emotions, you’ll definitely get something from this episode.

I've been on a bit of a social media detox AND been very diligent about using the "do not disturb" feature on my iphone. It's been immensly helpful in reducing some stress and anxiety and keeping me focused on work (and my kiddos).
In this episode, I'm delving into the impact of social media and our constant connection to our cell phones on various aspects of our lives. I'm explorinig how these digital technologies can impact us -- including productivity, mental health, and memory. And as always, I'm sharing things that have helped me, and my clients, with creating habits and routines that reduce our reliance (or addiction) to these apps and tools.

The youngest of six, Dr. Nicole Bradford grew up in a chaotic, abusive home environment and always felt "different." Despite her challenging upbringing, Nicole was the only one of her siblings to attend college and has had a remarkable career. She embraced being different by no longer focusing conforming and meeting external expectations, and instead focusing on her own.
She has held many different titles within the educational system, from teacher to principal and even a college dean, and today, Nicole has her own business supporting educators and administrators. Her journey of professional growth is a testament to her resilience and determination. Her business name is Maintaintheflame, and you'll hear more about that in the interview.
Nicole has a book out now, "My Soul is NOT for sale". This book focuses on how you can break away from the Lies, Labels and Limitations and create the life you deserve.

Welcome to the latest episode of She Doesn't Settle! In this episode, I'm asking the maybe unpopular (but important) question - can too many self-help books and inspiration quotes make you feel like you're always chasing after the next big thing? Can it leave you feeling more alone and not good enough instead of inspired? And are we instead in more need of positive interactions and a supportive community?

Welcome episode 194! It feels good to be approaching 200 episodes. Thank you for tuning in and supporting the podcast. :)
On today's episode I'm digging into the #eratrend (yes, I know it started last year and Taylor Swift definitely had something to do with it) that continues to be shared on social media. I'm sharing why I love this trend and how you can use it to motivate yourself and build in some levity and fun as you work on parts of yourself.
I'm exploring the concept of eras, giving examples of some of my favorites, like the Villain Era and Healing Era and discussing why naming your 'Era' can help you get more specific about your goals (and why this is important).
Whether it's physical transformations, travel experiences, career achievements, or embracing single life, these eras bring color and richness to your journey. So, if you're not a social media person and don't feel like sharing your journey there, I'd love to hear about the era you're in. Remember, life consists of various chapters, and it's something to celebrate. Let the era trend serve as a prompt to prioritize what's important to you right now and garner the support needed to make it happen.
REMINDER!!
Ascend is open for enrollment and I am so excited to work with another amazing group of women. Get all the details at the link below and if you have questions, please send an email. Maybe it's time to focus on your Ascend Era?

In this episode of She Doesn't Settle, I discuss what happens when we receive a "sign" that prompts us to consider making a change in our lives (these are the moments in life that make us realize when things aren't going well and how we are settling for less than we deserve), but due to fear, we quickly dismiss that idea.
I'm delving into the mental aspects of listening to our inner voice rather than ignoring it and specifically addressing the fears and self-criticism that hold us back. I'm covering nine specific fears tied to our unique personality, such as not feeling good enough, lacking energy, and feeling out of control, among others.
You should ask yourself the question: Is this fear b.s.? This episode offers insights into finding the courage to take the first step towards change, making it achievable, and seeking inspiration from those who have undergone similar journeys. Tune in to receive a gentle nudge to listen to those signs and confront the fears holding you back.
