Imperfect Mom Life

16: Life’s Wake Up Call: A Stroke Survivor’s Story

Listen Later

Join me for this inspiring interview with stroke survivor and my dad, Russ Baer, a man who survived all odds during a series of strokes that nearly took his life. These strokes left him paralyzed on his left side, unable to eat or drink anything, and on the verge of death…needing an extremely risky brain surgery with less than a 10% survival rate.

I am so thankful that I had this opportunity to interview my dad and share his story. The first half of the episode is me filling you in on exactly what was going on during this difficult and scary time. We then lead into the interview.

He shares with us:

* His story from his perspective* When he realized he had a series of strokes that changed his life forever* Reflection on what he had been taking for granted prior to the strokes* What inspires him to keep moving forward* The legacy he wants carried forward* One valuable tip that will resonate with all listeners

Here is a picture of the Basal Artery Stenosis that dad had. The arrow is pointing to the blockage.

Dad would love to hear from you. Leave your comment below and I will be sure to share all of them with him.

Here we are after our interview!
