On January 14th, 1953 a Stanley Park employee came across a patch of leaves while he was patrolling the grounds. This patch of leaves caught his attention immediately because as he walked across them they made a different and significant crunching sound under his feet. He decided to investigate and he dug a bit down under the leaves and brush and what he found definitely caught him off guard. He discovered numerous bones embedded in the ground. This would be the discovery of one of the most famous unsolved murder cases in Canada, The Babes in the Woods.
