As a peak performer, I struggle with relaxation, but in today’s episode, I share my epiphany on why rest is essential to your long-term success. Like everything in life, we experience life in distinct cycles. If we spend too much time in expansion there is no room for healing, transition, or creation, all of which are essential phases of growth. It can be so tempting to envy those who have achieved monumental success and begin mimicking their routine, pushing yourself to your limits but stop and consider how much time these peak performers spend in relaxation. Without taking time to pause, even the best of us will experience burnout.
In this episode, you will learn how to balance that masculine and feminine energy by utilizing both rest and productivity to reach your ultimate goals faster and with the energy needed to maintain those achievements.
Key Takeaways:
Memorable Quotes:
“Stress isn’t a bad thing, it’s the amount of stress and the way that we manage stress that ultimately leads to burnout.”[7:12]
“What I see with a lot of people I work with is that they hit their new financial goal because they have stressed themselves out because they have overworked and are like “Yes I hit it” but then what happens is they fall four steps back and they lose it energetically, emotionally, physically because they didn’t have the adequate amount of energy to hold it.” [9:10]
“Why many people don’t quantum leap, or step into a really big and very expanded version of themselves or financial goal is because their energy is tired, it is depleted.” [11:10]
“We are human beings, we are not human doings and if we want to continue to have sustainable growth that makes a difference, that we are really able to hold with integrity for the long term, it’s going to require us to do things differently and to create a different paradigm and to live in a different paradigm that really understands the importance of rest.” [13:00]
