It's true that you can liken recruiting to dating. There is a courting ritual that has to happen between two parties, where if a third party gets involved, there could be issues. Imagine doing this dance with 32 companies in one week!
This is something our guest on today's episode went through after being laid off and embarked on her job search. Alyssa Rhoda joins us today to walk us through how she tackled this monumental task and the struggles that came along with it.
Alyssa Rhoda is the director of talent acquisition at a tech company based out of LA called Zephyr. She has been in recruiting for over a decade and is passionate about the candidate experience, company culture, and employee engagement. All reasons why recruiters were after her once she switched her status to "open to work" on LinkedIn.However, even after having a system of questions and points for each company, where Alyssa really put the time and effort into vetting each company in her interviews, the company she chose ended up being a bad fit. This led to her quitting in 45 days after being hired.
If this can happen to Alyssa, this can happen to anyone. So, we wanted to bring Alyssa on today's episode to discuss her experience and share the lessons she learned with our listeners so you have a better understanding and knowledge of how to choose a company most aligned with you.
