Last week, I went over the hesitations I struggled with as I debated the doability of building a course to teach bookkeeping…one of which was that I believed I would have to teach QuickBooks.

QuickBooks is the name of the game for bookkeeping—it has been for a long time. Most accountants would recognize QuickBooks before they recognized MY preferred platform: Xero. So I thought I had to teach it, because that’s what people would be looking for.

But then I stopped and asked myself three important questions:

Why do people want QuickBooks?

Why do I THINK they want QuickBooks?

And, most importantly…why DON’T I use QuickBooks?

After going through those questions, I chose to teach Xero, because it was the software i could stand behind 100%...and it still is. As long as I can choose Xero, I will choose Xero.

But why? What makes it so much better than QuickBooks?

Bookkeeping is a game of clicks. And the fewer clicks it takes to complete a task, the less time you spend on your work…and the more money you make per hour without having to charge your clients exorbitant prices.

And in the game of clicks, nobody is getting better scores than Xero. Here’s why…
