There’s a question many of you are asking yourself right now…

“Do I have what it takes?”

Do you have the skills, the knowledge, the education, the support, etc. to actually start your own bookkeeping business…or do you still have gaps you need to close?

Here’s my rule of thumb: if you think you have a gap, then you do.

Even if you do have the skills, and this is just imposter syndrome whispering in your ear. Even if you know what you’re doing. Even if you’re equipped with everything you need…

If you THINK you have a gap, then you do. Because when you think you have a gap, your confidence plummets…and potential clients can feel that energy.

If you’re not sold on yourself, you can’t sell anyone else on you, either. So if you think you have a gap, you either need to close it or prove to yourself that it isn’t there…and I’ve got a couple ways for you to do it.

Hi, I'm Katie Ferro, licensed CPA, mom of three, and the face behind Profits & Prosecco. And this is the story of how I went from an unplanned corporate exit to becoming a stay-at-home mom, building a part-time bookkeeping business that surpassed my previous tax manager's salary, and working only the hours I used to commute…all while raising three babies.

My journey to my bookkeeping business is not perfect, but it’s honest—and I hope that in telling it, if you are somewhere along this path yourself, I can show you what’s possible for you, even if things don’t feel clear right now.

They didn’t feel clear—or even possible—to me at the beginning, either. But here I am…and if you’ll allow me, I’d love to help you get to this place, too.

Is bookkeeping as a profession becoming obsolete?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no, because there are still far too many small errors that are easily done and easily missed when you don’t know what you’re doing.

Whether you’re a bookkeeper whose skills aren’t quite up to snuff or a business owner trying to do your own books, I want you to listen to the ten errors I talk about in this episode…and if any of them sound unfamiliar or you don’t understand what I’m talking about, that means you need to fill in your knowledge gaps…or hire a bookkeeper who KNOWS what they’re doing.
